Description

:iconfinite02:
let's do this :iconimsotiredcryplz:
+Name: Song Hojun (Family, Given)
+Age: 28
+Birthday: July 30th
+Height: 177cm or about 5'9.5"
+Weight: 143 lb
+Nationality: Korean-American
+Group: UI
+District: China Town
+Strain: BETA
+Level: Intermediate

+Abilities:
*When Hojun uses his abilities, his eyes glow and his marking emerge- however, he can control the strength and effectiveness of his abilities so that only one eye glows, and his 'tattoos' do not appear. He can always use telepathy with "one eye", and it depends for telekinesis and Glass Shift.

Telepathy/Net Link- the weakest out of his three skills at the moment, Hojun can currently 'link' up to about eight people at the same time- however, he can only relay messages back and forth, the other people in the link cannot communicate with each other. But, he can link up about 4 people and have everyone in the group communicate with each other. He prefers to just send the messages back and forth himself though because he likes having control over the conversation (and that this ability tends to give him migraines the fastest). His range currently extends to about a football field.

Telekinesis- he can currently lift and throw anything that less than or equal to his weight within about a radius of six meters, depending on how aerodynamic the object is.

Glass Shift- his trademark skill; Hojun uses his psychic powers to create a new plane within space. They often resemble a thick glass sheet, thus the name of the ability. Each plane has a lifetime of one minute before they disappear. They are not easily broken, but when shattered, they disappear immediately. Hojun typically uses this ability to jump and flip off of things for extra mobility.

+Personality/Traits: petty | capable | adaptive | shrewd | eloquent | antagonistic | smug | manipulative | opportunistic | narcissistic
Song Hojun is ultimately the type of person that enjoys watching other peoples' downfalls for his own amusement. From light teasing to completely crippling his foe, Hojun relishes in getting the upper hand on his peers. He also tends to only pay attention to the things that he's interested in, choosing to ignore everything else that he deems unworthy of his inspection - this has changed somewhat upon having to support himself financially, but he does his best when his job intrigues him. He doesn't mind a little bit of trouble here and there as long as it doesn't escalate into something catastrophic. Hojun likewise is skilled at pushing the blame onto other people, but he does find a certain satisfaction in completing jobs himself. Believing himself in being superior to the people around him, he also tends to dislike authority figures, despite also being skilled at flattering them. When he does acknowledge someone's skills and charisma, Hojun will then put them in the utmost regard as a sort of twisted idol.

Oddly enough, when faced with an overwhelming amount of stupidity and/or naivety, his smug facade tends to crack, and he ends up being the responsible one to bail other people out of trouble...

+History: Born in Los Angeles, California, Hojun grew up on the West Coast. His parents both coddled and pushed him, expecting him to be the model son that they had always wanted, instead of their useless journalist daughter. Finding all of it very stifling, Hojun ignored their attempts at molding his future, and he quickly found that he too had a talent for language - he couldn't create masterpieces with words like his sister, but he did have a certain knack for picking up foreign languages. Devouring both his AP foreign language classes as well as community college courses, Hojun was fluent in English, Korean, French, and Spanish, while also knowing a handful of several other languages by the time he finished high school. When he finished college, he proudly added Japanese and German to his repertoire are well, getting by with Chinese. Naturally, this meant that his other grades suffered his entire academic life, but his desire to completely understand each language kept him from caring much about his other classes. He gleefully danced through these years, joining his sister in a sort of verbal and written rebellion while their parents wailed and wept.

While in college, his sister had been hopping around East Asia, constantly writing to him about all of the foreign sights and sounds. Upon finishing college on his own terms, Hojun decided to move to Tokyo for a change in scene, having long grown bored of Western culture. He took his chance, grabbing a work VISA as an English teacher.
He quit within the first week.

However, Hojun's proficiency with both Japanese and manipulating people kept him from living on the streets, and he worked many small jobs making business calls to 'foreign' companies, acting also as a greeter at clubs in Kabuki-chou. One fateful day, he noticed an odd set of shipments from a certain importing company, and Hojun personally went to investigate the odd exchange, sure that he would be able to blackmail the manager into doubling his pay. He ended up being dragged to the top dogs, of the yakuza and he reacted rather violently to their suggestion that he should pay for his spying with a finger and a tongue. Hojun somehow impressed the top dogs with his verbal and physical antics, and was miraculously recruited into the yakuza.

He was immediately stationed on Mangetsu Island, and Hojun eagerly accepted his new fate, liking that he hadn't been deported and appreciating his new job. His skill with English specifically kept him close to the Boss's son, Hajiki, and he became a common face at meetings and negotiations for both legal and illegal imports. His parents believed him to be a personal translator, and his sharper sister congratulated him on these fateful turn of events. Hojun adapted far too easily to his new lifestyle, settling into his shabby flat in China Town. Naturally, within the next year, the infamous ZETA incident occurred.

He noticed his new abilities with fear, but gradually (automatically) became delighted by them. Hojun practiced his skills whenever he could, taking on solo jobs and testing them on the various scum in the Gomibako, reveling in his new powers until he began to notice the backlashes of using more power than he knew what to do with. He began to use his powers much more carefully not only to dodge the government's notice, but also to keep himself from brushing against his own limits. Through this careful experimentation, he developed his Glass Shift ability. However, it appeared as though he wasn't careful enough, because Hojun soon found himself being stationed more and more often around his boss's son, as well as a certain bodyguard...

+Likes: money, expensive clothes, job security, charisma, street food, the arts, making fun of people
+Dislikes: narcissists, lack of personal hygiene, pushiness, lack of taste, McDonald's, narrow-mindedness

+Other: In high school, Hojun took up parkour and freerunning as hobbies, leading to his current acrobatic fighting style. Although he likes toying with weaker opponents, Hojun's typical method of taking down his foe usually consists of multiple rapid, but precise attacks. Before he had his psychic powers, he was at his best when fighting in alleyways where he could jump and kick off of the walls. It appears to look somewhat like a hybrid between wushu and capoeira...

His ID-MATE is a plain steel ring that he tends to attach to one of his belt loops.
He actually has gray eyes, they just glow cyan depending on how much brain power he's using for his abilites. Likewise, his hair is actually black, i just colored it purple for. . . graphic purposes. . .
